What

You will improve your photography fundamentals in this advanced Digital SLR class.

Learn strategies for the best settings of the ISO (“film speed”), acheiving qualtiy color balance and working effectively with semi-automatic modes.

In addition, you will learn about using modes such as aperture priority (AV) – to soften portrait backgrounds and Sports (S) mode combined with setting a higher ISO (“film speed”) to stop action on the playing field.

Lighting methods will be covered, such as using a Speedlight flash for both fill light in outdoor portraits and mixing available light with your flash for inside shots.

Night photography with a tripod as well as the advantages of RAW image capture usign image processing software is demonstrated. Portraiture, posing and strategies for posing groups of 2,3,4 or more are explained with illustrated pictures.

This class will certainly help elevate your photography skills to the next level.

Richard Vallon Jr.

Richard Vallon Jr. received a BFA in Photography from ASU Tempe in 1981. He worked as a medical photographer at Ochsner Hospital from 1984 until 1990. Since 1993, he has owned and operated Orleans Photo Inc. He has worked for a long list of clients. Richard loves teaching beginning students who share his love of the new digital photography. His reward is seeing how his instruction helps their understanding of a sometimes murky art.
