Sign up for one of our intimate classes. No class is larger than 40 people, making it a great one-on-one learning experience. Lakeside Camera Photoworks wants to help you create better looking images. With one of our many classes you will learn techniques and skills to be a better photographer. No matter what level you are at we have a class for you. Choose from our many courses, from introduction to your camera to high level photo editing classes. 

French Quarter at Night Photo Ops - Friday, March 9th (5:30pm-9pm)
5:30PM-6PM - The tour will start with a meet and greet at Cafe Du Monde, BYOB (buy your own beignets). The instructor will go over equipment during an equipment check and discuss photo shooting opportunites.
6PM - 9PM - Walking French Quarter - Instructor will point out photo ops and discuss camera settings, techniques and composition tips to help you get the best shots.
After the class, you will submit your favorite image to Lakeside Camera by email, and we will produce a fantastic 8x8 metal print for you.
This tour will be guided by Mark Comon. Mark Comon has been a professional photographer since the age of 15. He is currently Vice President of Paul's Photo in Torrance, CA. As a photographic counselor, photo instructor and photographic artist Mark has the knowledge and experience to solve any photographic problem. Since 1988, Mark has taught more that two hundred students per month in his popular classes at Paul's Photo. As a dynamic lecturer, Comon has entertained and educated audiences from first-time snap-shooters and hobbyists to industry professionals. He delivers concise information, plain-language explanations, and inspirational images. In addition to teaching his inspirational programs popular in and out of the photo industry as motivational programs. Mark has taken students groups on photographic tours through Europe, Africa and the American Southwest. Mark's popular Photo Adventures to California's natural wonders (Death Valley, Monterey, Eastern Sierra and Yosemite) are always sold out. He is the originator of the Los Angeles Zoo Photo Day, now in its 19th year. His images have been featured in many publications, including Outdoor Photographer, PC Photo and Photographic magazine. As a photographic artist Mark's images have been featured in many local and regional photographic and artistic exhibitions. His beautiful landscape, insightful travel and stirring documentary images capture the light, drama and full range of the human experience.

Exploring Metairie Cemetery in B&W Saturday, March 10th (10am-5pm)
Meet in the parking lot of Metairie Cemetery

What's included (tour of the Metairie cemetery with tour guides full of historical knowledge of the cemetery, photo taking tour with photography instructors, review of techniques used - back at our classroom and a free 8x10 metal print.
We will begin the day with a tour of the cemetery at 10am. The tour will last 1 to 1 1/2 hours. Metairie is a large cemetery, and they have a planned tour that covers the oldest part of the cemetery. This tour provides many opportunities to see various tomb types, architectural styles and a variety of ornamental features. The guides will give a history of the cemetery, discuss our unique burial custom, tomb style and architecture and talk about the people buried in the cemetery. You will also be provided with a map of the cemetery. After the guided tour the instructors will go back through the cemetery photographing and sharing tips and techniques along the way. Particular attention will be paid to B&W photography as well as exposure and composition. We will plan on being back at the Lakeside Camera classroom by 3 pm. Once back in the classroom we will review the techniques used for capturing digital B&W images. There will be ample time for questions and answers. After the class submit your favorite image to us by email, and we will produce a fabulous 8x10 metal print just for you.
